Kappa

For over 50 years Robe di Kappa has dressed the young, anticipated trends and helped young people to express themselves with clothes. The brand has been associated with the concept of freedom right from its creation in Torino, Italy, in 1969 by 23-year-old Maurizio Vitale, the young CEO of an old textiles company, who recognized his peers’ desire to break from the old formal conventions passed on to them by their parents, also in the way they dressed. Those were the years of the students’ movement, of marches for peace and sit-ins in front of the White House. Young people wanted to change the rules of the world, and when Vitale saw John Lennon on TV wearing the military shirt of a Vietnam casualty he understood how they would dress: unisex and casual.
